Successful Trial of the Enhanced Extended Range Anti-Submarine Rocket (ERASR)

Product Name: Enhanced Extended Range Anti-Submarine Rocket (ERASR).
Trial: User trials were successfully conducted from INS Kavaratti from June 23 to July 07, 2025.
Design and Development: The design and development were carried out by the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) in Pune, a part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory and the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory for the Indian Navy's indigenous rocket launchers (IRL).
Key Features of ERASR
Fully Indigenous: The rocket is based entirely on indigenous technology.
Targeted Use: It is designed for anti-submarine warfare and can be fired from the IRLs on Indian Navy ships.
Specifications:
It features a two-rocket motor configuration to strike targets at longer distances with high accuracy and stability.
It uses an indigenously developed electronic time fuse.
Performance: A total of 17 ERASRs were evaluated during the trials. All specified targets, including range performance, electronic time fuse functionality, and warhead functionality, were successfully demonstrated.
Production and Future Plans
Production Partners: Bharat Dynamics Limited (Hyderabad) and Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (Nagpur) are the production partners for the ERASR.
Future Outlook: Following the successful completion of the user trials, the ERASR system is expected to be inducted into the Indian Navy soon, which will enhance its strike capabilities.

परीक्षण: 23 जून से 07 जुलाई, 2025 तक आईएनएस कवरत्ती से उपयोगकर्ता परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक किए गए।

उत्पादन साझेदार: भारत डायनामिक्स लिमिटेड (हैदराबाद) और सोलर डिफेंस एंड एयरोस्पेस लिमिटेड (नागपुर)।
आगे की योजना: सफल परीक्षणों के बाद, इस प्रणाली को जल्द ही भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल किए जाने की उम्मीद है, जिससे उसकी मारक क्षमता में वृद्धि होगी।
