समुद्र प्रदक्षिणा: भारत का प्रथम त्रि-सेवा महिला विश्व परिक्रमा नौकायन अभियान / Samudra Pradakshina: India’s First Tri-Services All-Women Circumnavigation Sailing Expedition

यह अभियान नारी शक्ति, तीनों सेनाओं की एकता, आत्मनिर्भर भारत की भावना और भारत की बढ़ती समुद्री कूटनीति का प्रतीक है।
अभियान के बारे में
भारतीय सेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना की दस महिला अधिकारी लगभग नौ महीनों तक स्वदेशी रूप से निर्मित भारतीय सेना के नौकायन पोत ‘आईएएसवी त्रिवेणी’ पर सवार होकर लगभग 26,000 समुद्री मील की कठिन यात्रा करेंगी। वे पूर्वी मार्ग से यात्रा करते हुए भूमध्य रेखा को दो बार पार करेंगी, विश्व के तीन सबसे खतरनाक अंतरीप—लीउविन, हॉर्न और गुड होप—का चक्कर लगाएंगी और दक्षिणी महासागर तथा ड्रेक पैसेज जैसे कठिन जलक्षेत्रों से गुजरेंगी।
दल मई 2026 में मुंबई लौटने से पहले चार अंतरराष्ट्रीय बंदरगाहों—फ्रेमेंटल (ऑस्ट्रेलिया), लिटलटन (न्यूज़ीलैंड), पोर्ट स्टेनली (कनाडा) और केप टाउन (दक्षिण अफ्रीका)—का दौरा करेगा। इन दौरों से रक्षा कूटनीति को मजबूती मिलेगी और भारतीय संस्कृति, परंपराओं, सैन्य दक्षता व वैश्विक सद्भाव का संदेश प्रसारित होगा।
स्वदेशी शक्ति: आईएएसवी त्रिवेणी
पुडुचेरी में निर्मित 50 फुट लंबी ‘आईएएसवी त्रिवेणी’ स्वदेशी क्षमता, तकनीकी नवाचार और आत्मनिर्भर भारत का प्रतीक है। इसकी यात्रा का प्रत्येक समुद्री मील भारत की सामरिक स्वायत्तता और तकनीकी उत्कृष्टता को दर्शाता है।

दल ने तीन वर्षों का कठिन प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया, जिसमें छोटे जहाजों पर अभियान, फिर IASV त्रिवेणी पर चुनौतीपूर्ण यात्राएँ और मुंबई-सेशेल्स-मुंबई अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्रा शामिल रही, जिसने उनकी समुद्री क्षमता और तैयारी को प्रमाणित किया।
वैज्ञानिक गतिविधियाँ
अभियान के दौरान दल राष्ट्रीय समुद्र विज्ञान संस्थान के साथ मिलकर सूक्ष्म प्लास्टिक, समुद्री जीवों और महासागरीय स्वास्थ्य पर शोध करेगा।
ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि
यह अभियान सर रॉबिन नॉक्स-जॉनस्टन, कैप्टन दिलीप डोंडे और कमांडर अभिलाष टॉमी जैसी दिग्गज हस्तियों के साहसिक इतिहास से प्रेरित है। इससे पहले भारतीय नौसेना द्वारा ‘नाविका सागर परिक्रमा’ और ‘नाविका सागर परिक्रमा-II’ जैसे अभियानों की सफलता ने इस ऐतिहासिक परियोजना का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया।

The expedition embodies the power of women, the unity of India’s armed forces, the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and the growing profile of India’s naval diplomacy.
About the Expedition
A team of ten women officers from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force will undertake an extremely challenging voyage of nearly 26,000 nautical miles over nine months. Sailing aboard the indigenously built Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni, the team will travel along the eastern circumnavigation route, cross the Equator twice, round three of the world’s most dangerous capes—Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn, and Cape of Good Hope—and navigate through major oceans including the Southern Ocean and the treacherous Drake Passage.
Before returning to Mumbai in May 2026, the expedition will dock at four international ports: Fremantle (Australia), Lyttelton (New Zealand), Port Stanley (Canada), and Cape Town (South Africa). These stops will not only replenish supplies but also contribute to defence diplomacy, showcasing India’s culture, values, military professionalism, and commitment to global cooperation.
Indigenous Strength: IASV Triveni
IASV Triveni, a 50-foot indigenous vessel built in Puducherry, reflects India’s technological progress and naval self-reliance. Every nautical mile covered by this vessel stands for India’s commitment to strategic autonomy, innovation, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The ten-member crew comprises:

Their training spanned three years, starting with small offshore voyages on Class-B vessels and progressing to long, demanding journeys on IASV Triveni. They also completed a historic voyage from Mumbai to Seychelles and back, proving their seamanship, endurance, and operational readiness.
Scientific Component
During the voyage, the team will collaborate with the National Institute of Oceanography for scientific research, including studying microplastics, documenting marine life, and raising awareness about the health of the oceans.
Historic Context
The expedition follows in the legacy of legendary sailors such as Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Captain Dilip Donde (Retd), and Commander Abhilash Tomy (Retd). Previous successful Indian expeditions—Navika Sagar Parikrama (2017-18) and its second edition (2024-25)—laid the foundation for this ambitious mission.
