Status of Farm Income
The latest Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households, conducted by the National Statistical Office (NSO), for the period January 2019-December 2019 estimated the average monthly income per agricultural household at ₹10,218.
Integrated Strategy for Income Growth
The Ministry has identified a multi-faceted strategy to boost farm income:

• Increase Production: Enhancing crop production and productivity.
• Reduce Costs: Lowering the cost of production.
• Better Pricing: Ensuring better prices for farmers' produce.
• Diversification: Encouraging diversification in agriculture.
• Value Addition: Developing post-harvest value addition.
• Climate Adaptation: Adapting to climate change and minimizing crop loss.

Major Government Schemes and Initiatives

• The government has launched several key schemes and programs to support farmers' income:
• Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN): Providing direct income support to farmers.
• Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY): Offering financial security through crop insurance.
• Minimum Support Price (MSP): Setting the MSP at a minimum of 1.5 times the cost of production.
• Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF): Financing the development of agricultural infrastructure.
• Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs): Promoting the formation of 10,000 FPOs to empower farmers.

Increase in Budgetary Allocation
The budget allocation for the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW) has seen a significant increase. It grew from ₹21,933.50 crore in 2013-14 to ₹1,27,290.16 crore in 2025-26. These efforts have contributed to a notable increase in farmers' income over the past five years.

• भारत सरकार ने किसानों की आय बढ़ाने के लिए कई योजनाएं और कार्यक्रम शुरू किए हैं:

बजट आवंटन में वृद्धि
कृषि और किसान कल्याण विभाग (DA&FW) के लिए बजट आवंटन में काफी वृद्धि हुई है। 2013-14 में ₹21,933.50 करोड़ से बढ़कर यह 2025-26 में ₹1,27,290.16 करोड़ हो गया है। इन प्रयासों के परिणामस्वरूप पिछले पाँच वर्षों में किसानों की आय में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि हुई है।
