INS Sandhayak at Changi Naval Base, Singapore

It is the first indigenously built large survey vessel (SVL) with state-of-the-art hydrographic survey capability. The visit of Sandhayak reaffirms India's commitment to regional maritime cooperation and is an important step towards strengthening bilateral hydrographic relations between the Indian Navy and maritime agencies of Singapore.
The visit also demonstrates India's growing leadership in maritime diplomacy and regional hydrographic capacity building under the Indian Navy's Hydrographic Department framework.
INS Sandhayak was commissioned in February 2024 in the presence of the Hon'ble Defence Minister. The ship has the capability to conduct full-scale coastal and deep water surveys. It is capable of undertaking SAR/humanitarian operations with helicopter and hospital operations.
The ship's maiden visit to Singapore is aimed at facilitating technical/professional exchange and continuing hydrographic support.

यह अत्याधुनिक जल सर्वेक्षण क्षमता वाला पहला स्वदेशी सर्वेक्षण का बड़ा (एसवीएल) पोत है। संध्याक की यह यात्रा क्षेत्रीय समुद्री सहयोग के लिए भारत की प्रतिबद्धता की पुष्टि करती है और भारतीय नौसेना तथा सिंगापुर की समुद्री एजेंसियों के बीच द्विपक्षीय जल सर्वेक्षण संबंधों को सशक्त करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
यह यात्रा भारतीय नौसेना के हाइड्रोग्राफिक विभाग ढांचे के तहत समुद्री कूटनीति और क्षेत्रीय हाइड्रोग्राफिक क्षमता निर्माण में भारत के बढ़ते नेतृत्व को भी प्रदर्शित करती है।
आईएनएस संध्याक को फरवरी, 2024 में माननीय रक्षा मंत्री की उपस्थिति में कमीशन किया गया था। इस जहाज में पूर्ण पैमाने पर तटीय और गहरे पानी का सर्वेक्षण करने की क्षमता है। यह हेलीकॉप्टर और अस्पताल कार्यों के साथ एसएआर/मानवीय संचालन करने में सक्षम है।
जहाज की सिंगापुर की पहली यात्रा का उद्देश्य तकनीकी/व्यावसायिक आदान-प्रदान और सतत जल सर्वेक्षण सहायता को सुविधाजनक बनाना है।
