Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards: Honoring India's Cleanest Cities 

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 awards, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). The ceremony honored cities and states that have shown exceptional performance in their efforts to make India cleaner.
Top Winners and Recognitions
Super Swachh League: 23 cities were included in the 'Super Swachh League,' with Indore, Surat, and Navi Mumbai making it to the Premier Super Swachh League.
New Top Clean Cities: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Lucknow emerged as India's new top clean cities.
Best Ganga Town: Prayagraj received the award for the 'Best Ganga Town.'
Best Cantonment Board: Secunderabad Cantonment was honored as the 'Best Cantonment Board.'
Best Safai Mitra Surakshit Shehar: Visakhapatnam, Jabalpur, and Gorakhpur received this award for their commitment to providing safety and dignity to sanitation workers.
Special Recognition for Mahakumbh: The Uttar Pradesh government and the Prayagraj Mela Authority received a special award for excellent urban waste management during the Mahakumbh.
Survey Highlights and Initiatives
Encouraging Smaller Cities: This year's survey introduced simpler standards for smaller cities, allowing them to compete with larger cities and improve their performance.
'One City, One Award' Principle: A total of 34 cities from various states/UTs were recognized as 'Cities with the Potential to Perform Better in the Future.'
Swachh Shehar Partnership Initiative: Central Minister Shri Manohar Lal launched this initiative, under which 78 top-performing cities will mentor and guide one underperforming city in their respective states.
Rapid Dumpsite Treatment Program: A one-year special program starting on August 15, 2025, aims to accelerate the treatment of legacy waste and make urban areas garbage-free.
3R Approach: The President praised the 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' (3R) approach and highlighted the importance of 'Waste to Wealth.'
The ceremony also saw the digital release of the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 results dashboard and a reflection on the 10-year journey of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मु ने स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2024-25 के पुरस्कार प्रदान किए, जो आवासन और शहरी कार्य मंत्रालय (MoHUA) द्वारा आयोजित किया गया था। इस समारोह में, भारत को स्वच्छ बनाने की दिशा में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले शहरों और राज्यों को सम्मानित किया गया।
प्रमुख विजेता और सम्मान
सुपर स्वच्छ लीग: 23 शहरों को 'सुपर स्वच्छ लीग' में शामिल किया गया। इंदौर, सूरत और नवी मुंबई ने प्रीमियर सुपर स्वच्छ लीग में जगह बनाई।
नए शीर्ष स्वच्छ शहर: अहमदाबाद, भोपाल और लखनऊ भारत के नए शीर्ष स्वच्छ शहरों के रूप में उभरे हैं।
सर्वश्रेष्ठ गंगा शहर: प्रयागराज को 'सर्वश्रेष्ठ गंगा शहर' का पुरस्कार मिला।
सर्वश्रेष्ठ छावनी बोर्ड: सिकंदराबाद छावनी को 'सर्वश्रेष्ठ छावनी बोर्ड' के रूप में सम्मानित किया गया।
सर्वश्रेष्ठ सफाई मित्र सुरक्षित शहर: विशाखापत्तनम, जबलपुर और गोरखपुर को यह पुरस्कार मिला।
महाकुंभ के लिए विशेष मान्यता: प्रयागराज में हुए महाकुंभ के दौरान उत्कृष्ट अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और प्रयागराज मेला प्राधिकरण को विशेष पुरस्कार दिया गया।
सर्वेक्षण की मुख्य बातें और पहलें
छोटे शहरों को प्रोत्साहन: इस वर्ष के सर्वेक्षण में छोटे शहरों के लिए सरल मानक बनाए गए, जिससे उन्हें बड़े शहरों के साथ प्रतिस्पर्धा करने और बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने का अवसर मिला।
'एक शहर, एक पुरस्कार' सिद्धांत: विभिन्न राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के 34 शहरों को 'भविष्य में बेहतर स्वच्छता प्रदर्शन करने की संभावना' वाले शहर के रूप में मान्यता दी गई।
स्वच्छ शहर साझेदारी पहल: केंद्रीय मंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल ने इस पहल का शुभारंभ किया। इसके तहत, 78 शीर्ष प्रदर्शन करने वाले शहर अपने-अपने राज्यों के एक-एक निम्न प्रदर्शन करने वाले शहर को गोद लेंगे और उनका मार्गदर्शन करेंगे।
कूड़ाघर सफाई कार्यक्रम: 15 अगस्त, 2025 से शुरू होने वाले एक साल के इस विशेष कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य पुराने कचरे का तेजी से निपटान करना और शहरों को कचरा मुक्त बनाना है।
3R दृष्टिकोण: राष्ट्रपति ने 'रिड्यूस, रीयूज, रीसाइकिल' (3R) के दृष्टिकोण की सराहना की और अपशिष्ट से धन (Waste to Wealth) के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
इस अवसर पर, स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2024-25 के परिणाम डैशबोर्ड को डिजिटल प्रारूप में जारी किया गया और स्वच्छ भारत मिशन की 10 वर्षों की यात्रा को भी रेखांकित किया गया।
