'Talaash' Initiative: Holistic Development for EMRS Students

Launch: By the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTs), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in partnership with UNICEF India.
Objective: To promote the holistic development of students in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS).
Full Name: Talaash (Tribal Aptitude, Life Skills, and Self-Esteem Hub).
Significance: This is a first-of-its-kind national initiative specifically for tribal students.

Target: To benefit over 1.38 lakh students enrolled in EMRS across India.
Digital Platform: It is an innovative digital platform designed to provide students with the tools necessary for self-discovery and career planning.
Key Modules:
Psychometric Assessment: Inspired by the NCERT's 'Tamanna' initiative, it offers a general aptitude test to understand students' abilities and interests. Based on the results, students receive career cards.
Career Counselling: The platform guides students in making informed career decisions, aligning their aspirations with their aptitudes.
Life Skills and Self-Esteem Modules: Teaches critical life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and emotional management.
E-Learning for Teachers: A special portal equips teachers with resources and training to effectively guide and support students.
Implementation and Future Plans
Implementation: The initiative is being implemented in a phased manner in selected cities. So far, 189 teachers from 75 EMRS have been trained.
Timeline: The goal is to make 'Talaash' active in all EMRS by the end of 2025.
Equity and NEP 2020: The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on holistic development and equal learning opportunities for all.

साइकोमेट्रिक मूल्यांकन: एनसीईआरटी की 'तमन्ना' पहल से प्रेरित, यह छात्रों की क्षमताओं और रुचियों को समझने के लिए एक सामान्य योग्यता परीक्षा आयोजित करता है। परिणामों के आधार पर छात्रों को करियर कार्ड दिए जाते हैं।
करियर परामर्श: यह छात्रों को उनकी योग्यता के अनुसार सही करियर विकल्प चुनने में मदद करता है।
जीवन कौशल और आत्म-सम्मान मॉड्यूल: समस्या समाधान, संचार कौशल और भावनात्मक प्रबंधन जैसे महत्वपूर्ण जीवन कौशल सिखाता है।
शिक्षकों के लिए ई-लर्निंग: शिक्षकों को प्रशिक्षण और संसाधन प्रदान करने के लिए एक विशेष पोर्टल है, ताकि वे छात्रों को बेहतर मार्गदर्शन दे सकें।
कार्यान्वयन और भविष्य की योजनाएँ
कार्यान्वयन: पहल को चरणबद्ध तरीके से लागू किया जा रहा है। अब तक 75 EMRS के 189 शिक्षकों को प्रशिक्षित किया जा चुका है।
समय-सीमा: 2025 के अंत तक, 'तलाश' को सभी EMRS में सक्रिय करने का लक्ष्य है।
समानता और NEP 2020: यह पहल राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (NEP) 2020 के अनुरूप है, जो सभी के लिए समान शिक्षण अवसरों और समग्र विकास पर केंद्रित है।
