Upgrading popular tourist destinations to global standards

The Ministry of Tourism does not directly take up 100% funded Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects under its existing centrally sponsored schemes including Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
However, the Ministry of Tourism evaluated the project proposals submitted by the State Governments under its SASCI scheme (Special Assistance to States for Development of Popular Tourist Destination). Under the scheme, to encourage private sector participation in the tourism sector, the States were required to share potential PPP projects at selected tourist destinations under the evaluation criteria. These projects are to be implemented and monitored by the respective State Governments.
Under the SASCI Scheme, the Ministry has advised the State Governments to calculate the ultimate carrying capacity after assessing the physical carrying capacity and limiting factors in their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). The details of the projects sanctioned under the SASCI Scheme along with the details of funds disbursed and estimated carrying capacity submitted by the State Governments in their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) are enclosed.

पर्यटन मंत्रालय स्वदेश दर्शन योजना सहित केन्द्र प्रायोजित अपनी मौजूदा योजनाओं के तहत शत-प्रतिशत वित्त पोषित सार्वजनिक निजी भागीदारी (पीपीपी) परियोजनाओं को सीधे तौर पर नहीं लेता है।
हालांकि, पर्यटन मंत्रालय ने अपनी एसएएससीआई योजना (प्रसिद्ध पर्यटन केंद्र बनाने हेतु राज्यों को विशेष सहायता) के तहत राज्य सरकारों द्वारा प्रस्तुत परियोजना प्रस्तावों का मूल्यांकन किया। योजना के तहत, पर्यटन क्षेत्र में निजी क्षेत्र की भागीदारी प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए, राज्यों को मूल्यांकन मानदंड के तहत चयनित पर्यटन स्थलों पर संभावित पीपीपी परियोजनाओं को साझा करना आवश्यक था। इन परियोजनाओं का कार्यान्वयन और निगरानी संबंधित राज्य सरकारों द्वारा की जानी है।
एसएएससीआई योजना के अंतर्गत, मंत्रालय ने राज्य सरकारों को सलाह दी है कि वे अपनी विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट (डीपीआर) में भौतिक वहन क्षमता और सीमित कारकों का आकलन करने के बाद अंतिम वहन क्षमता की गणना करें। एसएएससीआई योजना के अंतर्गत स्वीकृत परियोजनाओं का विवरण, साथ ही राज्य सरकारों द्वारा अपनी विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट (डीपीआर) में प्रस्तुत धनराशि वितरण और अनुमानित वहन क्षमता का विवरण संलग्न है।
