भारत की समुद्री तटरेखा की लंबाई को एनएचओ/एसओआई द्वारा आधुनिक जीआईएस और उच्च-रिज़ॉल्यूशन डेटा का उपयोग करके 7,516.6 किमी से संशोधित कर 11,098.81 किमी कर दिया गया है। एमओपीएसडब्ल्यू द्वारा समर्थित यह संशोधित माप आपदा प्रबंधन और समुद्री सुरक्षा की बेहतर योजना में सहायक है, लेकिन यह मौजूदा सीआरजेड (तटीय विनियमन क्षेत्र) सीमाओं को नहीं बदलता है, क्योंकि वे एनसीएससीएम द्वारा निर्धारित वास्तविक उच्च ज्वार रेखा पर आधारित हैं। India's marine coastline length has been revised from 7,516.6 km to 11,098.81 km by the NHO/SoI, using modern GIS and high-resolution data. This revised measurement, endorsed by MoPSW, aids in better planning for disaster management and maritime security, but does not alter the existing CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) limits, as those are based on the separate HTL mapping by NCSCM.
